At PINC & STEEL, we have a nationwide network of trained Oncology Therapists ready to support your patients. Our simplified referral process ensures they’re connected quickly with the right care — making it easy for both healthcare professionals and patients to access the support they need.

When to Refer

PINC & STEEL cancer rehabilitation services support people with all cancer types, at any stage of their treatment or recovery.

You can refer a patient if they are experiencing any of the following — or other issues affecting their physical function, wellbeing, or quality of life:

Physical Concerns:

  • Fatigue, weakness, reduced mobility, muscle/joint pain
  • Stiffness, tingling in hands/feet, scar discomfort, swelling in limbs

Functional Challenges:

  • Difficulty exercising, managing treatment side effects
  • Balance issues, risk of falls, lymphoedema

Daily Life Impact:

  • Trouble resuming day-to-day tasks or activities they enjoy
  • Seeking personalised physical activity guidance

Other Issues:

  • Shortness of breath, bladder or bowel dysfunction, difficulty with self-care

What Happens Next?

Every patient starts with an initial assessment. During this session, an Oncology Therapist will:

  • Assess the patient’s needs, goals, and treatment impact
  • Create a personalised self-management plan
  • Recommend the most appropriate rehabilitation pathway

Timing of Rehabilitation

Our services can support patients during or after treatment. Many benefit from starting rehab while still undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy or hormone therapy to manage:

  • Fatigue
  • Strength loss

  • Post-treatment, we help patients restore function and return to life roles.

Specialised Support: Pelvic Health & Lymphoedema

Many of our certified PINC & STEEL therapists have additional qualifications in pelvic health and lymphoedema management.
