Testimonials

One patient, One physio, One Step at a time

quotes-dark I have noticed a significant improvement in my balance as a result of taking the classes. I noticed a change in my general wellbeing after just the first class and was motivated to buy a step so that I can practice at home.

Both the instructors are very encouraging and were very skillful in their supervision of the various activities. I very much enjoyed this small group experience.

quotes-dark How beneficial this was to me. The opportunity to do the programme was a god send.

I believe the targeted cancer rehabilitation programme is such an incentive to someone who is coming out of treatment with fears, doubt, concern over ever being as fit, active and healthy as prior to diagnosis. The provision of a free six week course was so appreciated after the costs of the cancer treatment.

My instructor Libby was wonderful. I cannot praise her highly enough and intend to continue with classes with her in the future. I will be promoting this programme to anyone I come into contact with in the future.

Many thanks.

quotes-dark My experience in the program set me up for success in relation to some upcoming surgery that had been planned for some time. Sarah was aware of this and organised my program accordingly. She gave me great confidence regarding my health and the ability to cope with the surgery - something I really valued.

quotes-dark I have learnt so much about the importance of strength building and exercise; and have learnt how to continue my journey with at home exercises to do, to continue to build my strength and to help cope as part of the healing journey.

quotes-dark I first started seeing my physio as a Pinc Pilates patient when going through treatment for early stage breast cancer, but have continued my weekly classes since then as part of my exercise routine. Over the years I've added other activities, given that exercise is such an important part of my remission, but it can get hard at times to stay motivated. So when Luci asked me if I would be interested in joining the 'Next Steps' class, I immediately said yes as I'm always keen to try new ways of staying fit and it sounded like a really great combination of load-bearing cardio, toning and relaxation. I had not done any aerobic routine type exercise for years, so it took me a while to learn the step routine, but I was not the only one in the class that thought that it was more of a mental than physical challenge! Once I got the hang of the different steps, I found it a lot of fun and it was really satisfying to see the improvement in my ability each week. I really liked the fact that the classes incorporated elements of Yoga, Cardio, Strength work and meditation, and as the classes were on a Monday it was a great way to start the week. I always felt really rejuvenated and ready for the week. Luci put in a lot of effort to change up the routine and music each term, so the classes always remained challenging and fun. I also really enjoyed the meditation at the end and the 'Thoughts for the week'. It actually really helped me to reflect and feel grateful for how far I've come in my recovery and ongoing remission.

quotes-dark A truly excellent initiative. Each person involved was able to share experiences which further strengthened our collective resolve to do more, be fitter and better and not be encumbered by a cancer diagnosis!
